Places in Bambooflat

 Stepping on Bambooflat makes you feel like you have stepped on different islands. Bambooflat is a far different place from Port Blair where you have to travel by boat. There are government ferries assigned for these islands which offer both passengers as well as vehicles to pass across the sea. The ferry charges are set by DSS (Directorate of Shipping Services) which cost around 13/- for a ferry passenger & more for a 2-wheeler or 4-wheeler rider. 

1.Sea Shore Drive - by near Bambooflat Jetty

It takes around 15 minutes to spend your time in a boat. 3 vehicle ferries MV Pilopanja, MV Mus & MV Karmatang are for Bambooflat’s service as well as there is a ferry boat  which is fast enough to travel. MV Karmatang is a 2 sided ramped vehicle ferry which gives advantage for one side to enter all the passengers as well as exit form the other side. 

After disembarking there’s a lot of rush for everyone to get for the transport where you can find jeeps, autos & buses. At the right side of the jetty ahead, just a few steps by walk there you would find sea shore drive where spending the evening gives a much  advantage for self. Mostly locals who reside here used to visit these places at most of the evenings as at that time weather used to be cool & you are able to feel the blow of the breeze. Also if you used to come to these places for a while to check the connectivity of mobile data you would find the connectivity is much better than before as the connectivity is being improved by the government. It is also possible to watch boats disembarking numerous passengers for a single period of time. 

The most unfavorable thing is that there is a fish market behind the sea shore drive where fishermongers used to sell their fish. Also general public use to fishes that are sold in variety of numbers. If you could tolerate the smell of fishes you try spending  your time here. Not only fishes but also there are stalls of fast foods where if felt hungry you could fulfil your appetite here. 

2.Kori Jetty - Distance 5 min (2.1km)

This jetty is just a mile distant from Bambooflat where ships used to sail for inter islands. n o trespassers are allowed to cross the boundaries until & unless the permission is verified. The ships used to stay not more than 2 days as they set sail according to the schedules made choosing their routes. These places can be viewed while traveling from the routes of Bambooflat - Chatham & vice versa. 

3.WimberlyGunj Waterfalls (Parachatan) 15 min 6.3 km far from Bambooflat 

Bambooflat is beautiful in itself as there are not many attractive places surrounded deep inside with lush greenery if you are from the general public. One such place is Parachatan in Padauk Bagicha where one can have a scenic view of nature. 

The place is far from Bambooflat approx. 6.3 kms deep inside the forest. Finding this place itself is a difficult task as vehicles must be parked beside the road where on the edge of both sides you are capable of finding only lush greenery forests which lead deep inside with little sunlight falling on them. Trekking here itself could take around 10-15 mins & if water pipelines are visible / found then congrats you are on the right track. Stepping forward will lead you to the most secluded places of these area,meeting you to the reality of the hidden gem. The waterfall gives a soothing experience to our eyes as no one could believe there could be such a place which is very little explored by anyone. 

Diving deep into the waters makes a relaxing comfort from the burning hot sun. The water of the waterfall is cool without any doubts as it's deep inside the embrace of nature. It would be a wonderful experience diving deep to explore nature not only for fun or leisure but also for our own knowledge. The tourists are unknown to this place, are quite a population free from the outer world. 

4.Shoal bay 19 

The most wonderful beach but far distant, nearly around maximum 2 hours or more to reach the destination. A perfect place to spend your vacation while the most perfect duration to visit here is during weekends as most of the families have holidays on weekends. The area is a bit secluded as the roads are smooth & plain here. But still it's recommended to drive at the given speeds. While reaching the area you must go to the spot by local canoes or dinghies which would cost you as per the passengers. Passing through these little boats would make you reach your spots & it's a wonderful place for a picnic place. Many locals used to visit these places for a great leisure time to spend. 

5.Sea View - Panighat 

It's a beautiful place far away from the hustle & bustle of life from the city. While it can be counted as the most peaceful areas where you are able to spend time with your families. A natural space to surrender yourself truly on the lapse of nature. There is also shore & nearby is the Panighat jetty where boats arrive & depart for mostly for Phoenix Bay & Bambooflat. The restaurant serves mainly veg & non-veg dishes which are even more delicious here. It's actually a park where you could relax from the daily routines spent on your weekdays. The shade of the trees gives a relaxing comfort to whoever visits here. 

A mini park made for the general public where you could be able to enjoy your moments. In the evenings its not much visited by anyone but the people residing here used to visit these places. If you feel exhausted all day just spend some time here,you would find yourself relaxing. The park doesn’t have many developments but for kids it would be a pleasure for them.
